“It was found that holding the festival at the end of August 2025 presents constraints with regard to the reduced availability of artists available to be part of the ‘line-up’, thus reducing the possibility of choosing the best options, with potential for quality and diversity of the offer that is intended to be provided to the target public”, reads the proposal signed by the councillor for the Green Structure, Ângelo Pereira (PSD), and presented in a private meeting of the municipal executive.
The proposal amends the protocol signed in 2024 between the municipality of Lisbon and Kalorama Festival Unipessoal, LDA, which provided for the 4th edition of MEO Kalorama, in 2025, to be held between August 28 and 30, at Parque da Bela Vista, modifying the event schedule for June 19, 20 and 21, 2025.
This change was requested by Kalorama Festival Unipessoal, LDA, “with a view to the success of the 4th edition of the festival”, with the municipality recognizing the promoter's right to denounce the protocol, “should its holding be considered contrary to its strategy”.
In addition to changing the festival dates, the proposal determines that the 4th edition of the event will be preceded by a period of assembly from May 26 to June 18, followed by the event and the subsequent period of disassembly, until July 6. “thus totalling a partial allocation of the space for up to 41 days”, in Parque da Bela Vista.
Among the reasons for the festival not being held again in August is the indication that this month is “a summer season par excellence, with a decrease in the national public and, specifically, in the city’s inhabitants, which translates into a smaller adhesion of the 'target' public”.
