A newly drafted plan of the EU executive has been designed to streamline access to biopesticide and biocontrol approvals, addressing the outdated process and maintaining Europe’s competitive position in the global market.

Biopesticides, made from natural materials, offer pest control solutions with lower environmental impact than conventional chemical pesticides.
These include fungi that infect and kill aphids and beetles, viruses that target certain caterpillars, and essential oils like clove oil, which repels pests.
