“The Rodilla Group will implement a growth plan for the Portuguese chain, with the aim of reinforcing its Portuguese character and boosting its international expansion,” says the same note, as reported by ECO.
For the Spanish group, with around 300 establishments and which includes the brands Rodilla, Hamburguesa Nostra, Vaca Nostra, Café de Indias and Jamaica, this is the first operation in Portugal and the second internationally, after its entry into Miami in 2019. The operation is subject to approval by the Competition Authority.
After this step, the group “will focus on ensuring a careful transition period, maintaining focus on managing the teams and the company’s daily operations,” the statement highlights.
The bakery and pastry shop chain A Padaria Portuguesa was founded 15 years ago by Nuno Carvalho and currently employs around 1,000 workers and has 84 stores in Greater Lisbon and Greater Porto and two factories, in Lisbon and Porto.
